Cristian is a provisional psychologist who brings a warm, empathic, and human-centred approach to his work. He creates a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel genuinely heard and supported in exploring their experiences, building self-understanding, and finding meaningful ways forward.
About Cristian
Cristian brings a rich cultural and professional background to his practice in Australia. Prior to relocating, he worked closely with vulnerable communities in Colombia affected by violence and a wide range of psychological conditions. This formative experience deepened his commitment to equity-informed, compassionate care and continues to shape his clinical approach.
He is currently developing his clinical skills across psychological assessment, case formulation, and the delivery of evidence-based interventions. Cristian draws primarily on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand their emotions and thoughts, and find healthier ways of relating to them.
As a migrant himself, Cristian has a firsthand understanding of the challenges faced by people navigating life in a new country. The grief of migration can deeply affect one’s sense of identity and self-worth, and may contribute to depression, anxiety, and feelings of disconnection. He is particularly passionate about supporting culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and offers therapy in both English and Spanish.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) — recognised by the Australian Psychological Society as equivalent to a four-year Australian psychology qualification
Fees
As a provisional psychologist, Cristian’s sessions are offered at a reduced rate. Please contact Fellow Psychology for current fee information.
Please note that provisional psychologists are not eligible for Medicare rebates. Clients are encouraged to check whether their private health insurance covers sessions with a provisional psychologist.
